URS President's Report

· From April 13 to 16, the 2010 Summer Training Seminar on Typhoons, Earthquakes & Other Natural Hazards with the title The Role of the Social Sciences in Disaster Risk Reduction was held in Palma Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City was sponsored by the UP College of Social Science & Philosophy. Ms. Ma. Salome S. Desoloc, Prof. Helen B. Señora and Prof. Gliceria C. Masinsin attended the said training.

· Prof. Josefina B. Merced attended the seminar in Reevaluating Teaching of Philippine History and Culture to Restore National Pride and Dignity among Filipino Youth. It was held in Hotel Supreme, Baguio City last April 14 to 16 sponsored by Research & Educational Development Training Institute.

· The Dairy Congress and Expo last April 16 to 18 was held in Cebu International Convention Center, Mandaue City, Cebu. The expo was attended by Prof. Estela S. Roderos of URS Tanay campus.

· Camarines Norte State College, Naga City, Camarines Sur where the 8th PACUIT National Conference was held last April 19 to 22 was attended by Prof. Domingo G. Bermas, Prof. Paciano S. San Andres and Prof. Edgardo Y. Celestial of URS Morong and Cainta.

· Last April 19 to May 8, Prof. Ederlinda B. Dacillo and Dr. Flordeliza R. Peñaranda attended the 2010 Short Course in Technology Based Entrepreneurship held in CEM Lecture Hall, College of Economics and Management in UP Los Baños, Laguna. It was sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology.

· The 29th Annual Convention of the Private School Health Officers' Association Incorporated entitled, “PSHOA at 30: One Vision.. One Motion.. One Connection..” was held in New Unilab Bayanihan Center, Mandaluyong City last April 21 to 22 and was attended by Dr. Edna C. Maycacayan, Mrs. Adelaida R. Superiano and Mr. Christian M. Vibar.

· The Department of Budget and Management and the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges sponsored a Training - Workshop on the Electronic Updating of Personal Services Itemization - Plantilla of Personnel held in Bayview Park Hotel, Roxas Blvd., Manila last April 21 to 23. It was attended by Mrs. Shirley R. Marty, Mr. Benjie G. Ingco and Mr. Jeremy R. Aterrado.

· The First National Forum on Butterfly Culture and Conservation was attended by Dr. Dorothy C. Solano of URS Tanay held in Marinduque State College, Boac Campus, Marinduque on April 21 to 23, 2010.

· The seminar entitled “Lakas ng Pag-kakaisa, Mula sa Pag-oorganisa: Hatid sa Sambayang Pilipino, Marangal at Dekalidad na Serbisyo Publiko”, sponsored by PSLINK and CHED, was held in Ciudad Christia, San Mateo, Rizal last April 22 to 24. It was attended by Prof. Reynaldo M. Jesuitas, Mr. Andreo F. Inguito, Dr. Ronald M. Marty, Prof. June S. Crimen, Prof. Arcadio O. Diñozo, Dr. Rosa A. San Gabriel, Prof. Evelyn P. Magdalena, Prof. Domingo S. Pantaleon, Prof. Leoncio C. Catolos and Prof. Gliceria C. Masinsin.

· The 2nd Joint Executive Council & Secretariat Meeting held in Batanes State College, Basco, Batanes last April 22 to 24, sponsored by the Philippine Science Consortium, was attended by Dr. Olivia F. De Leon, Dr. Emma E. Linga and Prof. Jocelyn C. Rubio.

· Last April 26 to 29, a seminar was held entitled “Pambansang Gawaing - Kapulungan sa Filipino ng PASATAF: Kabalikat sa Higit na Pagpapatatag ng Wikang Filipino sa Pagpapatupad ng Bagong Kurikulum” in Teacher's Camp, Baguio City. Present there were Mrs. Rosalinda De Guzman, Mr. Ricardo B. Cruz of URS Angono and Pililla.
