13th SUCTEA National and 3rd International Research Conference

olleges Teacher Educators Association (SUCTEA) National and 3rd International Research Conference was highlighted by the presence of CHED Commissioner Nenalyn Defensor who served as Keynote speaker during the 3-day conference held at Indah Hotel, Manila from June 2-4, 2010. With the theme: SUCTEA Strengthening the Internationalization of Transformative Teacher Education, Commissioner Defensor emphasized the importance of teacher excellence as primary precondition to producing quality research and extension.

In addition, presentation of the SUCTEA

Journal which contains refereed researches, articles and book reviews from various faculty coming from different SUCs in the country was among the major objectives of conducting the SUCTEA convention. Aside from organizing, the University sent more than ten faculty to participate in the conference. Three faculty presented their dissertation and research paper in the said ac

tivities. On the last day of the convention, participants especially faculty researchers who have yet to experience exploring the historic Manila were treated with special tour to Intramuros and the new popular attraction in the city which is the Manila Ocean Park for free as entrance fees were shouldered by the city government thru special request of Dr. Olivia de Leon to Mayor Alfredo Lim.
