Fire and Earthquake Drill

To prepare the students in cases of fire, earthquake, and other emergencies , the URS Disaster Brigade composed of faculty and staff conducted a fire and earthquake drill on June 17, 2010 in coordination with LGU and rescue and medical teams from various disaster-mitigating agencies. This disaster simulation event is yearly conducted usually before the beginning of classes in June to reinforce in the awareness of the students the proper safety response in times of unpredictable natural emergencies. The faculty and staff are also involved in rescue and firefighting mission as safety precautions and systematic response to have zero-casualty and minimize the loss and destruction of property of fire and earthquake.

General Orientation for Freshmen and Transferees

As traditionally observed during the first week of classes, general orientation for freshmen and transferees is organized in morning and afternoon sessions to accommodate all the new college students. On June 16, 2010, all campuses simultaneously conducted freshmen’s and transferees’ orientation. The event serve both as welcome gesture and an avenue to guide the students in surviving and finishing their courses with flying colors.
