First Rizal Provincial Educators’ Assembly and Launching of Gawad Natatanging Rizaleño sa Edukasyon

The University started the year 2010 in the right direction by organizing the 1^st Rizal Provincial Educator’s Assembly on 14 January 2010 at the Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Tanghalang Sining (EARTS) in Morong Campus. With the theme “Harmonizing Education in the Province of Rizal, the URS together with the Provincial Government and with full support of DepEd and TESDA gathered all the leading education experts and stakeholders to discuss and share insights on how to harmonize the three levels of education in order to improve the academic performance of students as well as the teaching and learning competencies of teachers.

President Olivia F.de Leon delivers her opening message to the guests and participants of the Assembly

President Olivia F. de Leon welcomed the more than 800 participants while DepEd Region IV-A Director Paraluman R. Giron, TESDA Deputy Director General Rogelio C. Peyuan and CHED Region IV-A Director Leonida S. Calagui. She presented the current issues, trends and challenges in harmonizing the programs of the three agencies in order to raise the quality of education from basic and secondary up to the tertiary level. After the presentations, a panel of experts in education exchanged views and gave recommendations in line with the theme of the Assembly. The last part of the program was the official launching of the search for the 1st Gawad Natatanging Rizaleño sa Edukasyon which was presented by the Honorable Governor Casimiro A. Ynares III.
