5th Annual URS-PRAISE Awarding Rites

Two forty (40) years in service loyalty awardees, Prof. Ella J. Lontoc who is a senior faculty based in Tanay campus and Mr. Felicisimo B. San Juan, the current University Procurement Officer led the eighty-two (82) loyalty awardees in a formal University of Rizal System Program on Recognition, Awards, Incentives and Service Excellence (URSPRAISE) awarding ceremonies. This year’s celebration coincides with the 110th anniversary of the Philippine Civil Service and to show support, the URSPRAISE committee led by the University President Dr. Olivia F. de Leon adopted the agency prescribed theme: “In a RACE to Serve: Advancing Responsive, Accessible, Courteous and Effective Public Service.” Aside from the symbolic pinning, awarding and recognition bestowed to faculty and staff who rendered at least 10 years in public service, fifty-two (52) career incentive awardees or those faculty and staff who completed their graduate and postgraduate studies as well as seven (7) retirees as service awardees were given corresponding cash, token, certificates and plaques of recognition. Likewise, the College of Education was awarded a plaque of recognition for its Level III accreditation of the BSEEd program accomplished last academic year. Similarly, two (2) awards in best research and one (1) best extension project which were chosen by the external evaluators in the recently concluded RDEP Congress held in URS Binangonan on September 17 were awarded to the winning faculty researchers and extensionists. Finally, the University rendered respect to the five (5) posthumous awardees whose services and contribution in the University are truly deserving of honor, praise, gratefulness and remembrance. They received through their living relatives gifts and certificates as a gesture of appreciation for dedicating a significant part of their lives in the service of the people and the University.
